Ruby’s notes on form

I have started each day’s record with how many eggs were laid in the various bush nests that day (usually by the other hens) and how many eggs were laid in the nest box in the hen house (usually by me). Eggs that can be found easily (like mine in the nest box) are collected daily. The bush eggs tend to accumulate until The Old One (a human with uncanny chicken sense) comes and finds all our hidden nests. I have also recorded the level of the feed hopper as this is of great importance to a chicken (you will see that unfortunately and disappointingly this is not consistently full) and I have added notes about anything else that has taken my fancy that day.
